Long before the SUV made sharp inroads in the auto market, the station wagon reigned as the leading family car. And that's how the Jeep Cherokee got its start in 1974. Over the years, with several pauses in production, the Cherokee has evolved into a well-rounded compact SUV suited to busy families.
The latest Cherokee model is built with an innovative hybrid powertrain for budget-conscious families who'd rather pass by the pump while dropping off the kids at school or picking up groceries. Yet the Cherokee retains the unmistakable style and capability of a rugged Jeep. A Jeep Cherokee for sale near Waterbury is your chance to hop behind the wheel of this celebrated nameplate.
Is the Jeep Cherokee Right for Your Routine?
Let's start under the hood. A gasoline engine paired with electric motors propels the Cherokee to peak horsepower and torque. That's more than enough pop to competently steer you along curvy suburban streets or for a quick dash on the highway to nearby Hartford. The Jeep Cherokee's performance and handling make carpooling and commutes uncomplicated and straightforward.
While you go about your day, you'll stretch out in the Cherokee's technology-enabled cabin for a secure, connected ride. Chat with friends via your smartphone, while the Cherokee's suite of driver assistance systems serves as an extra set of eyes to alert you to potential hazards on the road. Tap into your apps and entertainment on the Cherokee's large, colorful touchscreen. A similarly super-sized data cluster clearly displays speed and other driving stats, so you'll always be informed behind the wheel.
But what Waterbury families really want in their SUV is space-and lots of it. Seating for five comfortably accommodates family and friends for rambling around town. The expansive rear cargo area makes way for all your retail packages, sporting gear for gameday, or travel bags for family vacations. Rearrange the storage space when called for with fold-down rear seats. The Cherokee delivers on all the reasons families buy an SUV-performance, technology, and space.

In addition to its spaciousness and spirited, gas-saving engine, a Jeep Cherokee is an extremely versatile and fashionable SUV.
Capability
When the weekend rolls around, the Cherokee is ready for off-road adventures. It can tow a small boat, trailer, or ATV to camping sites in the Connecticut wilderness. A four-by-four drivetrain is more than able to conquer untamed terrain. Each trim comes standard with several dynamic drive modes for handling whatever the changeable Connecticut weather brings.
Design
Jeep has regularly updated the Cherokee's design while still maintaining the brand's distinctive look. The iconic seven-slot grill still adorns its facade. But LED headlamps, taillamps, and daytime running lamps spruce up the Cherokee with a contemporary appeal. A large sunroof opens the sky to your passengers for an exhilarating ride.
Comfort & Convenience
Sit back in supreme comfort and style in the Cherokee's eco-friendly cloth seating or available premium upholstery. Tamp down the New England chill with available heated front seats. When your arms are full of packages, easily access the cargo area with an automatic liftgate. Inside and out, the Jeep Cherokee cleverly wraps style and practicality within its compact proportions.
Explore Used Jeep Cherokee SUVs
Shaker's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram carries a fully stocked inventory of pre-owned Jeep Cherokee models. Waterbury shoppers can browse through a variety of trims, features, and mileage totals to determine which vehicle fits their lifestyle and ownership goals. Our pre-owned Cherokee models are competitively priced to fit any family budget, as well. Older Cherokee models are gas-powered with the same high level of horsepower and torque as the new hybrid version.
Before we place any pre-owned Cherokee in our showroom, our technicians thoroughly inspect it and restore it to like-new status. Only examples meeting our high standards are offered for sale. We attach a comprehensive history report to every pre-owned Cherokee, so you'll know its exact condition. Our attention to detail and transparency extends to other great Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram models, like the hard-working Ram 1500 pickup truck and the sporty Dodge Charger.
For further assurance when you're buying a quality pre-owned Cherokee, consider a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Jeep. A CPO Cherokee receives that designation only after passing a mult-point inspection and undergoing a complete reconditioning. A limited powertrain warranty spanning seven years or 100,000 miles covers transmission, engine, and driveline repairs or replacements.

Our selection of new and used Cherokee models is just the beginning of our relationship with our Waterbury clients. As a full-service dealership, Shaker's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has a knowledgeable and dedicated staff to guide you through the financing process and maintain your vehicle throughout its lifespan.
Financing
Once you've picked out your Cherokee, step into our finance department for a streamlined and transparent lending experience. Our in-house financing team will outline a deal based on your finances and ownership goals. Here are just a few of the ways we make financing stress-free:
Online Application: Calculate your preferred monthly payments and complete an application online from the comfort of your own home. Our finance pros will take it from there.
Customized Loans: Our finance team will craft a loan with an interest rate, contract length, and payment schedule you can live with. You get the benefit of owning your Cherokee outright when the loan is up and building equity in it.
Leasing Options: A lease is a great option for buyers who envision short-term ownership without the burden of expensive upkeep. Drive the latest Cherokee model for a few years and then return it for a new vehicle or buy it when the lease ends. Your monthly payments will also be generally lower.
Trade-In Support: Your current vehicle has served you well for many years. Now, it's time to trade it in as you move up to a new model. Our online tool can appraise its fair value. That's cash you can use to lower the cost of your new Cherokee.
Servicing
Shaker's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram's dedicated customer service continues long after you start your Cherokee's engine and zoom off the lot. Our Jeep service center employs trained technicians who have the skills to care for every Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram model. Every technician can capably perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations in addition to vehicle inspections to spot minor problems before they become a major breakdown. If parts wear down, our technicians will replace those components with genuine Mopar parts for a proper and secure fit.
Waiting in a service center for repairs to be completed takes you away from your precious family and leisure time. For your convenience, we offer rental cars, shuttle service, and a drop-off option so you don't miss the important things in life. You can even pay the service bill over time if that suits your budget.
